This is a light test for the lamp. The rest of the objects are not suppose to be lit but it was too dark to see them so I added the full bright feature to it.

Came up with a new gameplay on Tuesday.
Got it approved by two of the DMD supervisors.
However the story was not good enough and we had quite a bit of restructuring and new storylines for our game and thus I edited the detailed game sequence today.

Yesterday I completed the showroom for the master bedroom as well as some random furniture, this morning I did part of the studyroom before group meeting that is.

Not much of a pic spam but here goes...
The textures are not really done, just using some to let you see more clearly =P

Below are some of the furnitures done during lessons.

Currently, we are finalizing the storyline.

Some of my updates ~
Worked on the main office and the meeting room ( the spiral thing at the top) rostrum and all..
when not used for meetings the spiral thingy is supposed to spin and glow for decorational purposes.. will be tweaked though.. to give more space for walking up the spiral and stuff...
Might have an auto seat assign function.
Did the monitor, keyboard, cpu for the company's computers of a level along with chairs..
the texture yet to be confirmed, most probably the glass one probaby tinted alternatingly
The tour stations were shaped so that they will fit into the intended topological view of a petal on the orchid which would be the topological shape of the buildings put together.
Condominiums that were done that time.. probably have to redo since we'll have the building's interior made too.
Aites. That will be all.

Forgot to post this picture last week.
This is the information booth concept in Second Life. It will rotate after the script is put into it so that it won't look static. It also has a touch for more information ability in it.

These are some of the concepts for the press room. There have been a few changes made since last week. I have did some research and it has shown a few designs that could match with the whole theme. Below are the structures I have done in Second Life.

The red colored object is an alarm that acts like a question queue. It gives more like a press conference feel. This is a more orderly manner in ARG platforms.
I will be touching on the Boss's blog this week.

Started working on a keybinding system.
A panel has been added to the preferences menu. This will be where you set your keybindings.
There are 3 columns, the first one being the action that will be keybinded to, the second is the keybind, and the third is the key modifier(holding on CTRL, ALT keys).

Hopefully, this will improve on how customizable users will want their second life program to be.

We apologise for the lack of updates here!!
Anyway, the story idea has finally been confirmed on the 18th of June.
So we're about to dive into action finally T___T
The Game Design Document and Technical Design Document have also been drafted out.
The detailed story outline, timeline of events for the beta period, task schedule etc have also been completed.

For this week,
I will be working on :

  • Showroom Condominium Exterior
  • Main Office
  • Tour Stations
  • Company Site

Wen Long will be working on:

  • Showroom Condominium Exterior
  • Press Conference Room
  • Information Stands
  • Boss's Blog

That's all, for now, for DMD side =P

Added a menu item "Import Models" that will allow the user to select a file to import. Right now, the function can only read text files and output the content to a notecard.

Sunday, June 17, 2007

I've put in the shortcut to select objects with a rectangle without having to go to the edit panel. Selecting objects this way causes the edit panel and the translation tool to appear as well.

Less than 10 lines of code is all thats needed really, don't know why it took me so long to get to that.

playing around with the game.. trying out new stuffs in the game.. although this game is pretty boring as it doesn't have a main objective, but i see a potential in it to become a interactive application as its interactivity in the game is very good. although right now i'm still quite confused about my job and tasks.. but i will still do my very best for this fyp. continue to work hard.. all the best for everyone working for second life..

Week 2 Blog Entry

After studying some weird function callback stff, I managed to pop up a window for you to enter in the object's name. It still needs some fine tuning though.

PRM108 - Fundamentals of Prims - Techniques II @ RUSLC
This class covers methods of working with multiple prims

Argh. We forgot to screenshot the 1st class! But we were there!
I swear! Anyways. Here's the 10 am class.

The presentation stuff had some problems and our nice teacher gave us L$30 for buying textbooks. Which.. in the end were of no use as the slides were working again!
We should have saved that 30 bucks...

Featured in the screenshot here, the three lovely DMD students!! XD

Wenlong, Eugene and myself =D

I'll just label as ARG as most of us (2) are from the ARG group.

**EDIT**
Wenlong saved us! Here's his ss!

today's lessons in SL..

hey, im beside the lecturer!
boot camp Day 3!!

Starting the day with a 'How Do I' question and answer session:
Our next modelling class was about features of objects, which includes the gravity applied, its tension, etc.

And our final class didn't happen..
