Siang Hao:
Second Life is a good simulation of reality, hence it can practically play any real life games. However, this simulator is only limited to 3D, hence it's impossible to create a straight-forward side scroller. The simulator itself is boring, but the MMO ability makes it enjoyable by adding the element of collaborative activity. It's also attractive because every user can find his/her own version of entertainment in it.

Jeremy:
Second life has been quite a fun experience overall, and I am amazed at how flexible and powerful it can be - with so many objects of unique characteristic and function that one would not have expected out of an MMO as it is alot of data to handle. With a large playerbase of 2 million players, Second Life is a great platform on which applications that especially benefit from its social aspects, can be developed.
Although a great place to create smaller games, I am unsure of whether longer ones that create an sense of attachment for the player will work. People here generally socialise majority of the time, and pass the rest of it playing impromptu fun games that allow them to leave at any time to a place where they can sit down and have a nice talk. It seems a game which would require them to be present hours at a time will not work - but I am guessing that if done correctly, it might be possible, and if it succeeds, it might even spark a whole wave of it - considering the number of players and scripters there are out there.
There is a huge downside - and that is the lag encountered from the rendering and data transmission. As for the data transmission, it might be something that only we experience as the servers are not located in Asia I presume, and having many custom objects only serves to worsen things as more data has to be sent over. The rendering part might be that the hardware has insufficient power to handle the game, but I doubt so, as the graphics do not seem like the type that would stress out the X800 (ATI) I use, although it is two generations old.
I've seen hangman (yes, a game) in the game, custom pets, gorgeous cars, SL-ingo and many other things in SL (Second Life), and I am excited to create something here to impress the people of this alternate world.

Chian Song:
Second Life has what it takes to be a good entertainment platform for selected forms of entertainment . If we are talking for ARG, yes and no, we can create almost anything for it. It is slow paced, player need not do very very complicated stuff in the game for objective and it can support a mass amount of player if they are prepared to feel lagness. However in my point of view i feel that SL is a place for adults only, not because of the content but because of the feel of the world, if i was 12 and i went into SL, i will be bored in half an hour as there would be no aim for me other than flying around but as an adult, SL give one freedom that they urge to have in RL.
