Second Life and Sloodle

Hello!

It has been a great week as the team discovered ways to have Second Life interact with the massive World Wide Web (WWW) - Chian Song at the e-mails and Siang Hao to the virtual reality methods. Well, and me, I am working on allowing Second Life to interact with blogs, to allow blog entries to be made via a Second Life interface. It seems there is a project in development that facilitates this, namely Sloodle (http://www.sloodle.com). It is a Second Life module which allows people to fully interact with a Course Management System (CMS) online through the Second Life client without having to use the browser. The CMS is mainly just a content system, where news items and other blocks of information can be put and managed online for the rest of the world to see.

Currently, I only have Moodle set up, the web application where the information will be posted to at http://www.coffeepayer.com/moodle/.

The Second Life module which will allow the final interaction is set to release on the 22nd of March, which is stated on the official website, and it seems we might have to wait till then to be able to start using it.

For now, that is it, and I am excited to see what this can do - as the web has alot of capabilities Second Life cannot achieve as easily, and the pair will surprise for sure, if used well.
